Giveaway!!! The Grey Bastards Giveaway the THIRD! HOG ART CONTEST! (International – Ends 4/30/18)

Pretend this stack has 2 less on it. 😀 There are 3 copies left!~

It’s time to give away another book! This is a giveaway for an ARC of one of my favorite books of the last 5 years, and the winner of the 2016 SPFBO, The Grey Bastards (pictured above).

They were all but hairless from the flank to the shoulder, possessing only a crest of coarse bristles along their spine, sprouting from the mane growing about the neck and dangling from the lower jaw. A pair of tusks emerged vertically through the skin of the long and tapering snout, eventually curving back sharply towards the beast’s forehead. … Another set of tusks protruded upwards from a barbarian’s lower jaw and were the animal’s most vicious form of attack .

LIVE IN THE SADDLE! DIE ON THE HOG!!! You have named your hog. As a result, we have some awesomely named hogs in the world. I’m really curious what they look like though. So, I’m going to need a picture. It doesn’t have to be a pretty picture. You don’t have to be a professional artist. It can be a post-it note with a stick figure on it, as long as the picture on it is vaguely hog-like, you’re in. I don’t care if it’s digital art, photoshop art is fine (as long as you’re not infringing on copyrights or whatnot), pencil art, doodles on your phone art, macaroni-and-glue art. Be creative! Any original hog art that you make is eligible to win this contest.

I’ve decided to do this a little differently. Giveaway the second (which was a random reverse-birthday giveaway on my birthday) was far better received than the first, just because more people follow me on twitter than follow my blog (*nudge NUUUUDGE*). So, instead of having you comment on this post (which you are welcome to do. I love comments!) – this giveaway will be primarily on twitter. Why? Well… mainly because it’s easier to post pictures on twitter. 😀

I’m not judging this particular art contest by skill. So people who are super talented artists are no more or less likely to win than someone who can only draw a stick figure. I’ll be choosing this winner completely randomly. I might choose a name from a hat, or have my dogs choose which art they like the best (they’d like the macaroni art, I think), or I might have Google choose, or I might have Alexa choose. Or I might make Google and Alexa fight to the death and the winner can choose. There can be only one!

I’ll start!

Step 1: Draw a picture of your hog. DO THE ARTS!

Step 2: Post your picture, or a picture of your picture of your hog on twitter with the hashtag: #DrawAHog – You can reply to my giveaway tweet, or you can retweet it with the hashtag on it, or you can just post with it on its own. As long as it has #DrawAHog on it, you’re good to go!

Step 3: Follow me on twitter. @suprstardrifter – because I am hilarious, obviously. Also because if you win, you need to be following me so I can follow you so I can message you for the address deets if you win. Mainly because of the former, though.

Finally, here’s a bit of fine print for you, just so we’re all on the same page:

  • On May 1st, I will randomly choose a winner based on the entrants.
  • This contest is open internationally, to residents of any country that accepts mail. I will place the book in the mail within a week of being provided an address. I’ll ship media mail within the US and whatever is cheapest for all other countries. So, it might take some time for your book to arrive. Please be patient if it is zooming across the planet.
  • The winner will have 48 hours to claim their prize, after being notified via voracious tweeting at. After 48 hours, if there is no response, another winner will be chosen. So check your tweets!
  • If shipping internationally, any customs or tax charges are the winner’s responsibility. I’ll mark it as a gift, but I don’t know the customs and import taxation rules for all countries.

  1. OFFS: I cannot draw a ‘hog’; I can post my ‘non-existant’ hog on Twitter with the #DrawAHog hashtag !! 🙂 ; but, surely, I can follow you on Twitter!! 🙂

    1. You could make a collage in the shape of a hog out of magazine clippings… or…. Take a picture of a normal pig and draw outrageous tusks and whatnot on it in paint. Any original art is valid here. 😃
